Froggy Friday

Hey all

Not a huge amount to report this week. We are just building regiments so when it comes to picking the orders its nice and quick. Other than that STILL working on the dragon moulds. Casting of the moulds in the production room is looking fantastic and I am really happy with the quality of these sculpts.

The frog is too cute!
Duck Knight

I promised Neil I would snap a pic of the colossal trio on passing. Here they are!

Back next week, hopefully with some cast up final cast dragons :D

Friday update with extra RUMBLESLAM!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! !!! !
over 2 years ago – Fri, Jan 21, 2022 at 04:03:18 PM

Hey all

Sorry for lack of update last week. As we reach the closing stages there sadly isn't that much for me to say every Friday.

The Queen needed a few small changes as we realised her gnoblits were about twice the height that they should be! In order to ensure her bulk could still be pushed around we added a few extra.

We're building complete units of product and removing moulds from the run for the models that we've already hit the required quantity on.

So when is shipping happening?! I don't like giving a date as it always seems to slip for one reason or another. We are right on the cusp now though. There are a couple of glitches which caused issues (The dragons!) but we think we've finally sorted them (sizing, joints etc). They are being reprinted (again) and need about 60 moulds made for them. The resin room makes roughly 40 per day at the moment so its not the biggest task provided they do all now finally go to plan.

On that note we are going to start picking orders in the next week or so. The current plan is to ship everyone at the same time once finished (Or all in the same week at the very least) . Why? Previously we've shipped as orders are ready and this left those with the biggest pledges waiting until the very end which didn't seem fair.  I will keep everyone updated on this each Friday.

With shipping nearing it was finally time to call the RUMBLESLAM playtesting done and get the new cards printed. Now handing over to Lewis who wanted to let everyone know more about the new team.

Hello Kickstarter backers and Rumblefans! Lewis here from the TTCombat design team to talk to you about the new hotness coming to a ring near you shortly: the Knights of the Squared Circle!

A while back when we were told that the next Kickstarter campaign would be all about Halfling knights and in a big castle, we knew exactly what RUMBLESLAM team we wanted to put in. We've actually had the idea and artwork for this team ready for a little while, so it was a perfect time to get them out into the public.

The entire team was designed visually around the idea of some sexy, sexy knights. Wearing the kind of armour you usually find on women in high fantasy settings, these dudes are part knight, part body-builder and part wrestler. No one could upstage them, which is why they're joined by some lowly Hobgoblin flunkies and a haunted suit of armour!

When we started writing the rules for them, we knew that the two knights should form the centre of the team. It's rare in RUMBLESLAM for the WEIGHT 2s to be the core - quite a lot of teams rely on team-wide synergy or frequently have a centre-pole WEIGHT 3 wrestler who does a lot of the heavy lifting. But when knew these knights were special: just look at their oily muscles!

The knights fill a weird role not really seen in RUMBLESLAM up until now. Sir Flexer and Sir Poser both have a colossal 9 Stamina, which makes them hardier than an orc! However, their DEF is rather low and completely unreliable. They're huge and beefy, but those are just show muscles!

Luckily the rest of their stats are pretty good, and while the two definitely have their own specialisations, both Flexer and Poser have equally good off-stats, so they'll be able to do what you need them to throughout the game.

We knew from the start that we wanted this team to operate a little differently though. Pure stats don't always win games in RUMBLESLAM, and when you're relying on WEIGHT 2s to win the game, it's nice to have some tricks up your sleeve. That's where the Vows come in.

This special rule affects the entire team. You choose at the start of the game which of the 3 Vows your team will be adhering to for that match. Each Vow comes with a positive and a negative, so it's all about changing your playstyle accordingly. You choose after knowing who you're playing, so you have a great tactical advantage.

· Vow of Chivalry gives you much stronger Beatdowns, and increases the chance of getting them! A Beatdown on a 3 or more is great, especially when your knights won't be rolling that many dice. Unfortunately it means you can't perform Dirty moves, which includes No Class!

· Vow of Abstinence changes your play style a lot, since your Crowd Pleasers become extremely hard to pull off. However, you gain 1 Endorsement for every wrestler taking the Vow, and when using Endorsements, you can re-roll all the dice if you want! That's a big deal and makes your team that much more reliable.

· Vow of Bravery is best used when fighting casinos like The Feral Den or The Forest Soul where you're likely to encounter a lot of big fighters. You add +2 when attacking wrestlers bigger than you, but -1 when attacking wrestlers smaller than you. This is great for dealing damage with your Hobgoblins!

Speaking of Hobgoblins, these little serfs are there purely to serve your knights. Their stats aren't really anything to write home about (I don't think these Hobgoblins can even write), with a lot of single Copper dice. They also only have 3AP, so they're not even going to get much done when they get a chance! The Hobgoblins do also take their masters' Vows though, so that's a nice bonus to remember.

Both Hobgoblins have a Passive Ability that helps their fellow team members though, so they're not just wasted space. The Hobgoblin Page gives a friendly wrestler +1 AP each round, which can be super useful for your knights. Meanwhile, the Hobgoblin Squire allows you to flip the Crowd Pleaser dice to its opposite facing. That means your Vow of Abstinence will be a lot more forgiving while this little one is in the ring.

Finally, we have to talk about the giant, shining, pink glowing suit of armour in the room.

The Wight Knight is the Knights of the Squared Circle's WEIGHT 3 wrestler. It's big and chunky and completely hollow!

The Wight Knight has a lot of Gold dice on its stat card, but you have to be careful in its use. With only 3MP and 3AP those dice rolls need to go far. A Headlock and Pauldron Barge are its special abilities, and while useful, they're not massive damage dealers. The Wight Knight can definitely hold its own, but don't expect it to carry the team.

It also gets to use the team's Vows (obviously one it took before turning into a ghost), and has a couple of great defensive abilities. Firstly, as a ghost it's pretty hard to hurt, so is immune to Beatdowns! That means your opponents will have to beat it up the old-fashioned way. Also the Wight's Crowd Pleaser replenishes Stamina for the whole team - super useful when your knights and hobgoblins have been taking a beating. There's no range on it either, so go nuts! Although the Wight Knight has a terribly short range on its Turnbuckle attack, if you get one off, that's a massive 3 Gold dice for the roll, and a free Crowd Pleaser to boot. Just be careful when using the Vow of Bravery, since almost every target will be a lower WEIGHT.

There we have the run-down on the team! These cards have actually been sent off to print today after a whole bunch of playtesting. There's plenty there to go over while we wait for them to be printed. Are you excited to get these sexy knights into the ring? Which Vow is your favourite? There's one for every occasion!

Oh what? There's another wrestler we didn't cover? Oh yeah, their accompanying Superstar! Well, we have to keep something secret, don't we? Maybe in the future we'll take a look at Jack of All Hearts, possible the most consistent and balanced wrestler in the game!

Exciting stuff! Maybe soon he will give us some info on the campaign Carnevale miniature :)

Mark has been busily painting more fantasy miniatures including some from this campaign on our Twitch. Check it out as he is there every weekday https://www.twitch.tv/ttcombat

Back in the Castle

Hey all

Hope you had a great Christmas and Happy new year!

Claudio spent the last few weeks rendering the remaining ogre miniatures. Some of these are WIP from a couple weeks back.

Think these look good? Check out these actual castings from production

Everything here has been smooth sailing with the exception of the dragons. They keep ripping moulds and need to have few more tweaks to ensure ease of casting. As they are single models with lower required numbers we don't think this will cause too much trouble and hope to have them casting efficiently in the next week.

The team in the office are loving the models, you may have seen Jay, Dave and Mark painting some up on our Twitch channel!

Jason did this big guy! He actually ended up a bit taller than we originally forecast.

These things ended up being massive

Dave was sent home for Christmas with a set of giants. 'I will get them all painted he said' The only progress pic I got was 5 of them built. Lets check back in next week to see how far he got with them.

Igore the alien spire

Our Carnevale campaign miniature is looking stunning with her new paint job!

Shipping will begin in the next few weeks, 1? 2? 3? Not sure and we don't like giving incorrect information! Keep checking back here as you will be the first to know when we start packing boxes.

Back next week!
